SBI3U Homework – The Magic Square

Use The Magic Square to calculate the length of your paramecium from both your drawing and the pic on your phone.  The percentage difference between your drawing and the pic on your phone will reveal the accuracy of the size of your drawing!  I’ll show you how to find this tomorrow.

The Magic Square works for any specimen under the microscope.  Just change the word “paramecium” to whatever the specimen is that you are finding the size of.

Remember to include units in your substitutions.  You can use cm or mm for your measured values (the ones you used a ruler for).  it doesn’t matter as long as you measured correctly.  They will cancel out mathematically and you’ll be left with microns.  But remember to include units when you substitute your values throughout your calculations.  That is a requirement of proper scientific calculations.
